Official ceremony of handing over Letters of Credence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Cambodia Vahram Kazhoyan to the King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni

Vahram Kazhoyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Cambodia (with residence in Hanoi) presented his Letters of Credence to the King of Cambodia Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, on August 18, 2022.

During the conversation, held after the official ceremony of presentation of the Letters of Credence, King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni congratulated Vahram Kazhoyan on the occasion of the appointment as the first Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and wished him productive tenure for the benefit of both countries and peoples and expressed confidence that the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia will fulfill the high mission assigned to him.

His Majesty highly appreciated the centuries-old Armenian history and culture, particularly mentioning such historical-architectural monuments that Armenia has given to humanity, such as the churches of Mastara, Akhtamar and Noravank. He further mentioned that the whole world admires the music of composer Aram Khachatryan and films of Sergey Parajanov.

Ambassador Kazhoyan, thanking His Majesty for the audience and congratulations, in his turn, praised Cambodia's and humanity's greatest world heritage masterpieces such as Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm and Bayon Buddhist Temples. The Ambassador also emphasized the appointment of the first Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Armenia in 2021 and expressed readiness to work together with him.

The parties discussed issues related to the further development of relations between the two countries in the spheres of mutual interest, further deepening of cooperation in the international organizations, as well as expanding legal field between the two countries, genocide prevention, cultural and tourism exchanges.

Earlier, on August 17, 2022, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Cambodia Vahram Kazhoyan presented the copies of his Letters of Credence to the Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia Mr. Hulkrang Phanang.

During the meetings, Aramazd Muradyan, Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia accompanied the Ambassador.
